Greetings from INZBC!
The past month has been hectic but very fruitful, with the much publicised delegation visit to India.
We are happy to share our trade delegation visit to India was exciting, power packed and hugely successful. We had representatives from over 20 companies as part of the delegation this time, and we organised important meetings with Government of India officials and trade organisations. Our enthusiasm was met equally by our partners and supporters in India who wish for the India-NZ relations to grow by leaps and bounds.
The trade minister, Hon Damien O'Connor was also a part of the delegation. He participated in milestone conversations & was in high-level meetings with the Government of India.
Looking forward, we are thrilled to share that our corner stone event, the INZBC Summit is scheduled to happen soon.
The summit will be held on Friday, 11 Nov 2022, at Stamford Plaza, Auckland. The broad theme this year is: The road ahead for India New Zealand commercial relationships. The tickets are now LIVE, you may see further details below. More details about the sessions and speakers will be released soon, follow us on social media for updates.
Regards,
Earl Rattray Chair, INZBC

Briefing with the New Zealand minister
The delegates got to meet with the NZ Trade Minister, Hon Damien O’Conner in a one-to- one interaction. This gave them the opportunity to share with the minister, the sectors- based opportunities, and challenges that the New Zealand companies see, with regards to working with India.
This was a unique opportunity for the minister as well to hear directly from the Kiwi businesses. This helped to put the meetings with various officials in the right context.

Meeting with Invest India
This was a meeting to focus on the new initiatives of the Govt of India, to support foreign investments. The delegates were given detailed presentations on:
• Exploring the India-NZ collaboration with the Startups Ecosystem • Enhancing trade and bilateral relations through ODOP • States Connect Series: Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh.
Connections were made with the key officials, for different states. Opening new doors for work in the North East, etc.

New Zealand High Commissioner, David Pine, hosted a dinner in honour of the visiting delegation and the Minister.
The evening saw a great turnout with key stakeholders from India corporate world and government officials. This was a great opportunity for the delegates to network.
INZBC also signed an MOU of partnership with ANZIBA [Australia New Zealand India Business Association], for any work based out of Delhi.

FICCI LEADS 2022 Conference
The delegates attended the day-long conference of FICCI.
It gave ample opportunities to hear to some of the leading experts of the sectors and some senior ministers of the government of India. This gave us some great insights into the thinking of the current government and the corporate world of India.

|
Meeting with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry
This was a very insightful discussion with Mr. Tapan Mazumder, Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, who is one of the people to lead the trade discussion with New Zealand.
Mr. Mazumder shared the thoughts and policies of the Government of India and gave a background on the thinking of the current government on international trade.
